Hi! I'm Rory, founder and creator of Sowers Books!

As I left home and entered into a career in teaching, my passion for discipling young minds only grew. However, as I spent more time in the private school sector, I realized that many of the resources used to train young minds were at best, oversimplified, and at worst, legalistic. And so, armed with my Bible-nerd knowledge, illustration experience, and my husband Carson's IT brain, we got to work, and Sowers Books was born!

Our goal is to create beautifully illustrated stories that ignite the imaginations of children, while also teaching rich theology that doesn't hold back. Our prayer is that these books and resources will be a blessing to your family, as you navigate the wonderful challenges of discipling the children God gifted to you.

In our spare time, I enjoy drawing, playing soccer, and reading, while Carson enjoys working on his current soldering projects and customizing electronics. We both love spending quality time with family and friends playing games, being outdoors, and talking about Jesus.

Thomas Aquinas, CS Lewis, and many others, have famously written of the three transcendentals, namely Goodness, Truth, and Beauty. These properties of the world uniquely reflect God's character in reality and in our lives. We have noticed a unique problem in Christian children's literature, in which oftentimes one (or more) of these three properties is neglected.
At Sowers, we aim to highlight all three and refuse to compromise on any of them. This is why each and every one of our products seeks to communicate the true Gospel accurately, show God's goodness in all things, and do so with beautiful and stunning artwork. Each of our books and lessons are hand crafted, without any use of AI or other LLM's, by Bible believing Christians that we know and trust personally.

Additionally, we want to give the authority and power of teaching back to parents, where we believe it is biblically designed to be. While our books and resources are designed to give parents, churches, and teachers structure for teaching about God, they are intentionally designed to support, not replace, the parents' primary role in teaching their own children.

Do we have to use both the lesson and the book? Can we use just one or the other?
While the Sowers Books lessons are designed to work with the illustrated books, the lessons are able to be completed independently from the books, and vice versa!
What do we do?
Sowers Books creates illustrated children's books that pair with interactive workbooks and lesson plans, all centered around theology, church history, apologetics, and more!
What ages can use the books?
Sowers Books lessons are highly customizable and suitable for any young school aged child, from preschool until middle school. We have even heard that children as young as 2 have enjoyed our lessons!
Can the whole family join?
Absolutely! The illustrated books paired with lessons are designed for all kinds of different age groups,. There is also a Parent's Appendix in every resource, so the entire family can learn!
